THE BRITISH TEAM HAVE A RECORD BREAKING WEEKEND AT THE EUROPEAN
\nATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS WINNING AN INCREDIBLE 18 MEDALS<\/p>\n
Dina Asher-Smith made history securing the European sprint treble,
\nsmashing two British records along the way. There was a British one-two
\nin the men\u2019s 100m final, where Zharnel Hughes took the gold followed
\nclosely by Reece Prescod for the silver. European No.1 Hudson-Smith
\nlived up to the billing and was crowned champion on a super Friday
\nevening. Medals also came from Katarina Johnson-Thompson, Nethaneel
\nMitchell-Blake, Holly Bradshaw, Meghan Beesley, Jake Wightman, Shara
\nProctor and the 4x400m relay teams.<\/p>\n
Both Laura Muir and the 4x100m relay teams delivered glorious golds as
\nthe European Championships drew to a close, with Eilish McColgan taking
\nmagnificent silver and Laura Weightman a well-deserved bronze, as Great
\nBritain & Northern Ireland topped the Berlin medal table.<\/p>\n
Britain’s European champions and medallists including Laura Muir, Dina
\nAsher-Smith, Zharnel Hughes and Matthew Hudson-Smith will be the
\nheadline acts at this weekend\u2019s M\u00fcller Grand Prix Birmingham as they
\ntake on the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
Former Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth champion Greg
\nRutherford will compete in the long jump for the final time before
\nretiring from the sport.<\/p>\n
